Hey!
I hope you all had a good week with Thanksgiving eating lots of good food and watching American football!! Ahh that's the best(:
We had a pretty packed week which is always good! It started with our district leadership council on Thursday where we came up with some good Christ-centered goals and 'way forwards' for the zone so we can continue to bring more souls to Christ! My Buddy Elder Veenker from back home was cracking us up as well. It's always good to enjoy the mission and good to see him. 😂 We had Thanksgiving dinner with an investigator and his friend at a place called Toby's Carvery. Proper English restaurant but it was a mean feed for sure.! The funny part was he believes strongly in the Baptist church so he and his friend just started to bash in the most friendly way possible... I let them know they could bash all they wanted if they paid for our meal and would listen to what we had to say too! They paid for our meal and we're meeting again to teach them and clear some things up about the Restoration! Good people for sure!
Friday, we finally moved the last of our stuff from the old flat, that was full of mold, over to the new one. It kinda stunk because we didn't get the van from the office so we had to move everything with our car. Furniture and all, it was hilarious to see us driving down the streets haha. People gave us some weird looks but we strapped everything up real tight! We had a DA with the Vennerholms and Elder Veenker and Elder Niuelua came on exchange to celebrate my b day which was sweet! They also slept over and got me some Nike gear. It was so nice of them! Great way to celebrate my 20th in England!
Saturday, we had another Thanksgiving dinner which was good and we found this cool lady named Vicky and are excited to start teaching her! She's on date for December so we'll see how that goes! Clovis is doing well but his work makes it pretty tough to meet at times! We should be meeting with him on Thursday and teaching him more about the plan of salvation which should be good. He's also coming to church and we are pumped for that!! We had a referral from about three months ago finally come to church as well. He's a doctor from India and loves the Book of Mormon! He was found by missionaries awhile back and just referred himself again because he loves what we have to share! Now it's about finding time to see him, that's a problem that we have teaching people in London, everyone is busy, busy, busy!
Sunday, we had a great service! We had some members bring friends to church and our referral guy which was good. We had another dinner apt. with the Bells and we celebrated Thanksgiving and my birthday with them as well, it was a good time! They made my favorite banana cream pie and everything!! Haha so fun being with some Americans. Elder Dickey decided he likes Thanksgiving as well, his fav was the sweet yams with brown sugar and pecans. The Selsdon Ward is the best!!! So many brilliant and amazing families I will remember forever! We have moves this week so I hope I stay, 8 months in one area and it has been so good being here!!
Light the World came out and I hope you all are participating in the great things that go along with it! It will bring you and others blessings I promise(: We handed out about 100 cards the first day and have been Lighting the World ever since!!! So pumped for Christmas!!!! I was reading a talk from general conference the other day and this really stuck out to me.. "Hard makes us stronger, humbles us, and gives us a chance to prove ourselves." My mum always used to say choose the harder right than the easier wrong!
Have a good week!
